CANICKEL ANNOUNCE NEW CEO AND CHANGE TO THE BOARD
Vancouver, British Columbia – August 22, 2011 –
CANICKEL MINING LIMITED, formerly “Crowflight Minerals Inc.”, (“CaNickel” or the “Company”) (TSX: CML)
is pleased to announce today that subject to regulatory approval, Dr. Dianmin Chen is appointed as the
Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of the Company.
Dr. Chen holds a
degree of Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from the Central South University of China and a PhD
in Mining Geomechanics from the University of Wollongong of Australia.
After obtaining his B.Sc. in
1982, Dr. Chen worked as a mining engineer in China. Dr. Chen joined Northparkes Mines of Rio Tinto in
Australia in 1994. He was with Barrick Gold Corporation for 10 years working progressively to senior
roles at several of its projects and operations in Australia. Dr. Chen was the Executive Director and
General Manager at Sino Jinfeng Mining Ltd, a subsidiary of Sino Gold Corporation (now Eldorado Gold
Corp) from 2007 to 2009, where he was responsible for all aspects of mining operations and management
for the Jinfeng Gold Mine located in Guizhou Province, China. In 2009, Dr. Chen was the Chief Operation
Officer of CITIC Pacific Mining Management Ltd, responsible for the development of a large magnetic iron
ore mine in Western Australia. Prior to joining the Company, Dr. Chen was the Vice President of
Operations at Minco Silver Corporation and the President of Foshan Minco Fuwan Mining Co. Ltd., a
subsidiary of Minco Silver Corporation.
Mr. Kevin Zhu has resigned as the Interim Chief Executive
Officer and from the Board of Director of the Company due to his personal reasons. .
